Zadar Campgrounds

Camping on this coast is a family holiday industry rather than a wilderness pursuit. The sites north west of the city run from a beachside campsite inside the Borik resort zone to large holiday villages at Zaton, where mobile homes, safari-style tents and apartments sit alongside the pitches, with pools, restaurants and sport laid on. Prices climb with the season and the better pitches, the ones on the water, book out for August months ahead.

Geography decides the choice. The Borik site is the only one on a city bus route, so a car is optional. Zaton and Nin are fifteen to twenty five minutes out and put you on the sandy shallows that pebble-shy families come for, with the salt pans and the old town at Nin close by. Most sites open around April and close in October, so this is a season-only option.
