The water shelves gently, there is shade under the pines, and the beach bars and pizzerias along the front run through the season.
The headland immediately north is Puntamika, a quieter continuation of the same shoreline with rockier entries and a lighthouse at the tip. City buses run to the Old Town in about fifteen minutes and the coastal path makes the same trip on foot in around forty five, following the water most of the way. Borik suits visitors who want a beach outside the door and are happy to commute to the historic centre, which is the opposite trade to staying on the peninsula.
