Crew changeover days fill the village with people who need a supermarket, a bakery and a taxi rather than a beach.
Away from the marina Sukosan keeps a modest old centre around its harbour, a shingle shoreline with concrete platforms, and a run of apartments along the water towards Bibinje. Zadar is ten kilometres north west, fifteen minutes by car on the old coast road, and Zadar Airport is closer still, which is why charter guests often fly in and transfer straight here without seeing the city at all.
