Two kinds of laundry work here, and they serve two different crowds. The self-service places take a coin or a card, run a wash and dry in about ninety minutes, and suit anyone in an apartment without a machine or halfway through a longer trip. The drop-off services take a bag in the morning and return it washed and folded, which is what the charter crews use on turnaround day when the boat has to be emptied and refilled inside a few hours.

Prices are quoted per load rather than per kilo at the self-service machines, and per kilo at the drop-off counters, with ironing extra. Most sit on the mainland side rather than in the Old Town lanes, since the machines need the space and the customers arrive with a bag. In high season a same-day return is worth confirming when you hand the bag over.
