Gazenica lies about three kilometres south east of the peninsula, and since the port moved here the international sailings, the car ferries and the cruise calls all use it. The quay in front of the Riva takes small local boats and excursion craft only.

Allow half an hour to get out here, more with a car in August. City buses serve the port and a taxi takes ten minutes from the walls. The terminal has parking, ticket desks and a waiting hall, and for a car crossing you want to be in the queue well before the ramp opens.
